Questionnaire

Please expect this depth of questioning during the virtual/on-site consultation to help gain a better understanding of the property.

  • What is the main use for the property?  Who owns the property?  If the property is leased, do you have permission to change the landscape of the property (plant food plots,allow for browse areas, cut trees etc?)  How often are people or vehicles on the property throughout the course of the year?  How many years has the property been hunted?  How many people hunt the property?  How frequently is the property hunted?  Describe access points to property?
  • Does the property have a deer sanctuary that people will not spook deer by accessing stands, food plots, or cameras?  This includes the opportunity for deer to see, hear, or smell hunters or vehicles.  What does the surrounding properties offer that the customer’s does not?  Do adjacent property owners hunt?  If so, how would you rate the hunting pressure in a 1½ mile radius around the property?
  • What is the current deer population of the property?  What is an estimate of the deer population in the surrounding area?  Is the surrounding area known to support a large deer herd?  What does trail camera footage reveal?  What is the buck to doe ratio on the property? Are mature deer being harvested on this property or on surrounding properties?  Have adjacent property owners been asked for permission to hunt their land?
  • Does the customer want to increase the deer population to be able to harvest more deer, harvest a certain age class of bucks, or exclusively try to target individual mature bucks?  If the goal is to harvest mature bucks, what restrictions does the customer place on when to harvest a buck?  What are the determining factors to harvesting a buck?  Can the customer effectively age bucks?  What is the average and largest buck taken off the property?  How many deer are typically harvested per hunting season?
  • How many food plots does the property have?  Are there any ag fields are within 500 yards of the property?  If so, what crops are normally planted in these fields?  If food plots are established, what crops have been used in the past, and which have been successful?  Estimate of the size of each food plot on the property?  Are there food plots on adjacent properties?
  • What is the timber like on the property?  Has the property been clear cut or select cut?  If so, when?  Does the property have an abundance or lack of southern red oaks, northern red oaks, white oaks, persimmons etc?  Interest in planting and growing mast producing trees?  Have adjacent properties been logged, and when?  What percentage of the property has thick cover?
  • How many ladder stands, lock-on stands, and permanent shooting houses/blinds are on the property?  Are saddle/climbing stands used on the property?  How are the stands currently accessed (Truck, ATV, Foot)?  How many trail cameras are on the property?  How often are they checked?  How many cell cameras are on the property?  Where are the cameras located?  How many mineral sites are on the property?  Where are they located?  Are there any feeders located on the property?  Is corn or attractants used to feed deer? 
  • Would you like to have stands relocated and cameras moved, food plots or mast producing trees planted for an additional fee free of any liability?
